If you ever get fed up with schooling your horse going round in circles & the like why don't you have a go at western riding. I first started many years ago because my horse developed a pollen allergy & couldn't do fast work in the summer. The slower jog & lope ( canter ) of western riding seemed to suit him so I had some lessons when i could afford it with Adrian Brazier. I also went to watch western shows & clinics of which there are quite a few if you know where to look.
I also found that this quiet way of riding helped sort out my very sensitive sec D welsh cob Shade who doesn't cope with stress. Plus its much more friendly on the older riders bones when you use the western riding technique.
Iv got my son Leigh hooked & hes now schooling his mare Aurora western as well.
You may think that going western riding is expensive but it doesn't have to be. I bought my whole rig ( western tack ) very cheaply & it is wearing very well, i'e even used it at a western show.
